Alex Monroe established his London studios in 1987. He now enjoys world-wide success selling jewellery throughout Asia, Europe and America. His celebrity clients include Kate Moss and Cher.

July 2008 saw Alex being awarded the prestigious title of 'Designer of the Year' at the UK Jewellery Awards 2008. It was the highest praise Alex could receive, and the judges were unanimous in their decision saying: “His quality is perfect and his style is so consistent.”

Alex’s work is delicate, pretty and english in style. It is inspired by the simple beauty of nature and the passion of religion. Alex's love for gardening and nature is apparent, with little roses and wildflowers. More recent work takes a nostalgic look at Englishness; grasses and ferns mixed with dragonflies and bees. It is essentially a sentimental, tongue-in-cheek look at a lost time and place. 'The most important thing is to maintain quality at all times. Although I am interested in fashion I hope that I am using a design language that defies time'.
