Leandra Holder Day of the Dead Handpainted Skull Bracelet
Add this to My Wish List

Untitled Document

As with many of Leandra’s fuller bracelets, this works really well as a necklace too - there is a complimentary necklace extender chain if you would like it, just let us know if you do. This amazing bracelet has lots of hand painted skulls and vintage religious medals along with dozens of crystals and charms. It has a silver plated chain bracelet measuring approximately 19cm (7 and a half inches), with an extra 6cm (2 inch) extender chain and a lobster catch fastener.

Attached to the bracelet are:

  • Lots and lots of hand painted by Leandra, ceramic skulls – painted to be reminiscent of the Mexican Day of The Dead sugar skulls.
  • Many vintage silver tone religious medals.
  • A fabulous artist made, Day of The Dead pendant – made exclusively for Leandra in this size, by my good friend and “Disturbed Artist” Karen Day. This has a small mirror on the reverse (so you can sneakily check your make up!)
  • Some new haemitite cross charms.
  • 3 rare vintage, previously unused stock, late 1940s, Japanese glass lampwork beads in a dark red with a swirly green line pattern.
  • Some small new, silver tone skull charms.
  • Some large new red glass lampwork chili pepper charms.
  • 5 vintage, previously unused stock, black aluminium roses charms.
  • Some new opal glass skull charms.
  • Some vintage, previously unused stock, pretty red, millifiori glass beads.
  • Some new freshwater pearls.
  • Some vintage faux pearls.
  • Some new ruby red glass faceted beads.
  • Some vintage, previously unused stock, Czech faceted glass beads in an amazing peacock blue colour.
  • …. and there’s even more to discover!

Leandra’s inspiration: "I have long been fascinated by Frida Kahlo and her Art, and this is what led me to Mexico and their festivals. The annual Day of The Dead festival is when one remembers loved ones who have died - by having a picnic on their graves, talking about the happy times spent with them, and generally being joyous and glad to be alive. Brightly decorated sugar skulls are made and consumed, they make house altars and shrines and families get together to party. I find the Mexican way of death so much more appealing than the British! Yes, of course when I die I expect my family and friends to be sad ... but not for ever ... I hope they will get on with their lives, remember the good times, and celebrate those. This celebration of life and the joyfulness of it, is what I have tried to conjure up in this spiritual bracelet. I hope you love it as much as I enjoyed creating it."

As with all Leandra’s jewellery, this is a unique one-off piece of hand made jewellery that will not be replicated. The necklace comes to you gift-wrapped in an organza pouch.
