Watch Addict: Focus on Fossil Watches

If you follow us on any of our social media accounts you'll know it's no secret that we're completely addicted to Fossil watches here at Accessories Online HQ. Since we started stocking them last year our wrists have been yearning to sport all the styles from the coveted rose gold and charcoal grey Georgia watch to the beautiful Stella watch in rose gold. Honestly, that Stella watch almost makes my knees give way.

What's so special about Fossil watches? For me it's the design and the quality. They're always classically designed, but with little accents that make them stand out. Fossil is an American brand with its roots in vintage American design and culture - this is where they get their design inspiration. The company was started back in 1984 by a guy called Tom Kartsotis; they originally started by importing their own collection of watches from the Far East to sell to their American customers. Vintage design is what makes Fossil tick (yes, bad pun) - think Americana, gas stations, diners, drive-ins and you're there. Quality wise, their watches are made to last decade after decade. Crafted from high grade stainless steel, each watch comes with a 2 year warranty and is water resistant. I've been told the story about the 'Fossil watch I had for years and years' countless times by customers coming in our shop. That says it all for me.

The Georgia watch is a classic example of Fossil watch design. Reworked each season in new colour ways, it's a Fossil watch through and through. It combines heritage details such as the iconic lug hardware attaching the watch face to the strap and new trend influences such as the addition of crystals, a new season colour or a new material. It's quite a ladylike watch and delicate in appearance. We've found the leather buckle strap to be really comfortable to wear - it's not too wide and is easy to fasten.

The Stella watch is another iconic Fossil design. Its oversized watch face gives it an on trend boyfriend style look. The bracelet strap with removable links has a clasp closure that's secure and easy to open and close. It's really good quality too - heavy but not wrist-draggingly so. Just the right weight. The Stella watch has added detail with multifunction dials for the date, date and 24 hour clock. As I said before, I am totally in love with the rose gold version which comes with a brushed metal face or edged with crystals (my favourite). It also comes in a silver version and a tortoiseshell/gold combo which is our second best selling style after rose gold. There's also a mini Stella watch - as you've probably guessed it has a smaller watch face and a slimmer strap which is perfect if you find a large watch a bit too much.

The Curator watch is special too. The decorative strap makes it almost jewellery-like in appearance. I like the unusual shaped watch face which gives it a vintage look. The strap on the Curator watch features Fossil's Adjust-O-Matic system which allows you to self-adjust the bracelet length by simply unclipping the links - no tools required.

Finally, we can't forget the famous tins! Every watch comes in an iconic Fossil tin. The tin designs change each season and are quite collectable. I am loving the travel themed tins we have at the moment. Sometimes presentation is just as important as the product, so the Fossil tins finish things off nicely.
