  • Go Aztec this Summer with House of Harlow Jewellery

The weather is getting warmer and it is time to think about last year's summer dresses and how to update them with new jewellery by House of Harlow!

Last year we were all feeling tropical, this year it's all about Aztec. Think Sundials, Pyramids, triangles and, of course, the Aztec zone in the 90's TV show, The Crystal Maze.

House of Harlow have updated their classic sunburst motif with a gold-on-gold Aztec twist. Both luxurious and fun, these are perfect for updating your summer frocks and giving them a new lease of life. Aztec shapes have never been so hot!

Ti Sento Deep Purple Ladies Beaded Bracelet

We're totally smitten with the deep purple tones of this dainty?Ti Sento Reversible Bracelet in Dark Aubergine (?50.00).?It's simple enough to wear on its own, and would also look great layered with lots of simple silver bracelets. Gorgeous, and totally timeless, we'd love to find this little beauty under our tree on Christmas morning!

  • (Halloween) items we love: House of Harlow Scry Stone Bracelet

House of Harlow Scry Stone Bracelet

It's Halloween, it's payday, the clocks have gone back meaning it's starting to go dark at 5pm and quite frankly, we're in the kind of mood where we feel like treating ourselves. And while we could have chosen a piece of Halloween themed jewellery that contained skulls or bats or lots of other creepy ephemera, we've decided to go for something a bit classier.

We love all of House of Harlow's Autumn/Winter 2013 collection, and this?Scry Stone Bracelet (?62.95)?has to be the pick of the bunch. Its pointy jet black faceted crystals remind us of tiny witches hats, and the geometric Aztec patterning is wickedly on trend. Team this with a black cat, a cape and a broomstick, and you'll be the most stylish 'weird sister' in town.

  • Ghoulishly Good Halloween Jewelllery

Happy Halloween everyone! Not only is it the creepiest, kookiest day of the year, it's also payday. How convenient eh? So, in the spirit of the season, we've put together a post filled with some of the spookiest (and sparkliest) pieces from our collection. It's cold outside, the clocks have gone back and Winter is almost here. So why not treat yourself to something naughty yet nice?

Wildfox Skeleton Earrings in Rose Gold

We love these Wildfox Skeleton Earrings in Rose Gold (?49.95).?Not only are they bang on trend (rose gold is very 'in' this season!) but they're just the thing for any wannabe Skeletonette. We particularly like their malevolent grinning faces, as well as their individually articulated parts - meaning their bones will shake, rattle and roll in time with your movements.

Wildfox Skull Ring in Glossy Black

Skulls are a major theme of Wildfox's Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, as seen with this Skull Ring in Glossy Black (?56.95).?Its Swarovski crystal eyes are particularly creepy - indeed, it looks like the kind of ring that Death might wear to a Halloween party!

    Tatty Devine Aarrgghh necklace

You can always expect Tatty Devine to create a perfect piece of jewellery for Halloween. Their Aarrghhhh necklace (?45.00) is super piratey (oo-argh) and is also perfect for any fan of haunted houses, as it sounds just like the noise you'd made after you've visited one! Cher Lloyd can also be seen wearing this necklace recently on the cover of her latest single!

    House of Harlow Cross necklace

Worried about running into some vampires while you're out trick or treating tonight? Well, why not keep them at bay with this rather attractive House of Harlow 14ct Gold Plated Diamond Cross Necklace (?49.95).?The detail in comes from the fact that it's double sided with gold on one side, silver on the other. It's patterned with lots of faceted diamond shapes, has an antique plating and is on a long chain that's perfect for layering over your cloak and dagger.

Butler and Wilson Crystal Snake Brooch in Gold

Every witch needs a familiar to keep them company while they're concocting their spells and potions. This fabulous Butler and Wilson Crystal Snake Brooch in Gold (?68.00) is just the sparkly slithering serpent for us. He's dark, mysterious and we love his little green crystal eyes. We'd pair this with a sexy black dress and our best broomstick.

  • Five Fantastic Festival Looks

The August Bank Holiday weekend is rapidly approaching, and with it a bumper crop of festivals (Reading and Leeds, Creamfields and Notting Hill Carnival to name but a few). If you're looking for something to wear which is slightly more fashionable than a pair of muddy wellies, why not check out our collection of festival jewellery? Here's five of our favourite picks.

    Dogeared Silver Wishbone Necklace

If you want to make a wish for good weather (and relatively little mud), then this Dogeared Large Silver Wishbone Necklace (?44.95)?is the item for you. ?Simple and chic, it goes with practically everything, from Kaftans to Cagoules.

    House of Harlow Locket Ring

Chunky and unique, I love the feathered detailing on this House of Harlow 14ct Gold Plated Feather Locket Ring?(?62.97)?The locket effect also allows you to hide lots of little secret goodies (such as paracetamol for when that next-day-post-cider hangover kicks in).

    Kirstin Ash Zebra Cluster Necklace

Cluster necklaces are very popular at the moment, and this Kirstin Ash Zebra Cluster Necklace (?79.00) is one of my favourites. It features two pendants - one with?a small four leaf clover on a vintage paper background, and one which features a very splendid?golden silhouette of a zebra.

Daisy Chakra Bracelet - Sahasrara - The Crown Chakra - Gold Plated

If you'd like to wear something slightly more fashionable than a festival wristband around your wrist, I suggest this Daisy Chakra Bracelet - Sahasrara - The Crown Chakra - Gold Plated (?86.00)?The chakra symbolises intelligence, awareness and thoughfulness, which are all the attributes you need when you're trying to navigate your way around a field at 3am.

Fiona Paxton Tulsa Earrings in Silver

These Fiona Paxton Tulsa Earrings in Oxidised Silver (?44.98)?are long, slim and stylish. The herringbone style metal chain and stud tops lend them a spiky elegance.

Are you off to a festival this weekend? Which of our pieces would you like to be wearing? Let us know in the comments, or by tweeting us at @accessories_uk.

  • Be Bold: Statement Necklaces for stunning Summer ensembles

Want to be bold with your look this Summer? A chunky statement necklace can brighten up the drabbest of outfits. Even if you're wearing nothing but a big sack out and about; adding a collar neck piece and a slash of red lipstick will make it look like you're wearing couture. ?Here's a few of our favourite pieces from our store.

    Disney Couture Snow White Necklace

Beautiful, intricate and unique, this Disney Couture Snow White Seven Dwarves Necklace (?31.49)?combines draping?multi chains, mini skulls, and crystal charms - providing you with all the style you need to dazzle a fairytale prince. The asymmetric design is a nice touch too, providing it with a stylish draping collar effect . ?We'd team this with a black dress, lots of eyeliner and pink cheeks for that true Snow White look. Poison apples and evil stepmothers are optional.

The new Fiona Paxton collection?sees her taking influences from traditional African patterns and Art Deco designs. ?Her Shiko Collar in Gunmetal and Fuchsia?(?175.00)?is shot through with flashes of stunning neon stitching and hot pink?Swarovski crystals. This would look amazing set against a vibrant yellow t-shirt, skinny jeans and some acid bright stiletto heels.

Bunting necklaces appear to be all the rage at the moment. ?And with the country in the grip of Olympic fever, who can blame you if you feel like getting a little bit patriotic with your neckware? ?If you're looking for something which is simple, yet effective, House of Harlow's Gold Plated Triangle Collar Necklace?(?49.95)?packs a real fashion punch. Slip this over a crisp white blouse for a clean, sharp, look.

Who doesn't love a cute little owl? Especially when it's as attractive as this?Owl necklace from Wildfox?(?79.95).?This little fella looks like a real hoot (get it?) We love the crystal accents on the wings, as well as the look of mild surprise on the owl's face.

Often imitated, but never bettered, this Tatty Devine Dinosaur Necklace (?114.00)?is a true original. Inspired by the dinosaur skeletons featured in the Natural History Museum, this Jurassic charmer is made up of 50 individual bones. These are all of jointed to each other, providing it with plenty of wonderfully jiggly movement. This is a necklace which makes a real impact - throw it over anything and everything for that WOW! effect.

  • Buying earrings? We now accept returns on pierced jewellery.

Good news if you're buying earrings - we can now accept returns on all pierced jewellery.

It was a bit awkward before, as due to hygiene reasons we weren't able to accept returns on earrings. So to get around this we came up with a simple solution: all earrings are now sent out in clear sealed bags. If you don't break the seal on the bag then it's fine to send them back if they're not suitable for you. As they're in a clear bag you can still hold them up against your ear to see if you like them.

So now you can treat yourself to some beautiful earrings without worrying about returning them if they're not quite right for you. Here are some of our favourite earrings at the moment to inspire you:
