A childhood spent travelling the world and a passion for collecting has influenced London-based jewellery designer Mawi Keivom's eclectic style. Born in Manipur, North East India, the daughter of a writer and a diplomat, Mawi’s life has spanned many continents and cultures. From a very young age there was never any doubt that she would pursue a career in fashion or the arts. Growing up, her mother was instrumental in her creative development and stressed the importance of crafts. Learning to knit, sew and crochet from a young age she continued to hone and expand her skills throughout her formative years. This early exposure for the appreciation of art and beauty and workmanship has been a key influence and has continued to shape and define her aesthetics.

  • Introducing Wildfox Jewellery

We're thrilled to announce the arrival of Wildfox Jewellery to

Wildfox Couture is an American Vintage-inspired women’s brand. Combining great style and unsurpassed quality, Wildfox has quickly gained a following amongst celebrities, trend-setters and top retailers worldwide. Childhood friends Emily Faulstich and Kimberley Gordon are the creative force behind the brand. Inspired by sleepovers, beautiful books, fairies, dreams, vintage t-shirts and their friendship, the young designers gave birth to a brand based on love and having fun! Things had got too serious in the world of fashion, and it was time for a change. They created their t-shirts for every person, soft, baggy, bright and fun.

Together with musician Jimmy Sommers as CEO and President of Wildfox, the brand was officially established in Los Angeles in 2006. Today, the girls spend their time visiting vintage shops and working out of their Silverlake-area design studio - where they sew their hearts on their sleeves and spread peace and love through design.

The debut Wildfox Jewellery collection is inspired by famous Southern romances and old western shoot-out movies; ghost towns, the gold mining age and all-things Americana. The collection is? focused on the tale of a ?little cowgirl going west? other styles include the designers’ favourite necklace that simply says ?Foxy? in seventies script.

  • Preparing for Christmas

Hello all! The blog's been sadly neglected for a few weeks as we've been so busy preparing for Christmas. Two new designers have arrived (more on this later), plus we've been reorganising the shop and? getting the website ready for the festive rush. There's still some work to be done, as we have a huge Butler & Wilson delivery due shortly and we're hoping to have our new Dogeared Create line arriving in a week or two (very excited about this).

The two new designers that have just arrived are Bibi Bijoux from the Netherlands and The Earring Boutique which is created by the UK based designer Ashley Wells. Both designers incorporate the use of SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystals which are the finest crystals that Swarovski make. So expect some serious sparkle!

Bibi Bijoux is a well-established brand that was founded in 1999 by two sisters. All items are still handcrafted in their own studio in the Netherlands. Always surprising and on-trend, the designs evolve from human hands rather than from a drawing board. The sisters get their inspiration by the smallest things - that could be anything from a lost charm to? an antique necklace. Down to the very last moment the items get reshaped and improved. What we love about this new brand is the quality of the pieces. They are well made, substantial and a pleasure to wear.

The Earring Boutique is a unique? jewellery brand which combines statement design with the quality and glamour of SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS crystals. Head Designer Ashley Wells, draws on her established European fashion career to create distinctively stylish collections. With a constant eye on the International catwalks as well as scouring the globe for the beautiful and unique, every design is a true statement piece. These beautiful 'Nazca'earrings certainly prove the point:

In other news, our shop is looking pretty amazing at the moment. We've just put the Christmas decorations up and had a reorganise so that the space works much better. Pop in to see us if you're in the Liverpool area. We're based in a gorgeous 18th century converted barn in the rural village of Little Crosby. It's just a couple of miles away from Crosby beach where you will find Antony Gormley's Another place. So if you're a bit further afield you could even make a day of it. Jewellery Shop in Liverpool

If you've been on our website in the last week you'll also noticed that it's now ready for Christmas. We've extended our returns period so anything you've purchased from us after the 7th November can be returned at any time until Monday January 9th, 2012. It's something we do to take a bit of pressure away from you when choosing gifts, as you know that if the recipient changes their mind then you have plenty of time to return it back to us. Christmas shopping can sometimes be stressful, so it's our aim to make things as simple as possible for you.

    More soon,

  • Introducing Jacey Withers Jewellery

    Jacey Withers

We'll soon have the AW10 collection arriving from our newest jewellery designer Jacey Withers. Those of you who read my blog post from London Fashion Week back in February will have an idea of what's to come from this talented British designer. Before Jacey's jewellery hits our website I thought it would be good to give you a bit of background on him. We'll also be interviewing Jacey soon, so let us know if there's anything you'd like to ask.

Jacey’s signature style has been firmly established. It is one which includes elements of the macabre dabbling in folklore, mythology and fairytales but always retaining his feminine aesthetic. It's this innovative approach that has won him the support of a large celebrity fan base including Alison Goldfrapp, Dannii Minogue, Sugababes, Kelis and The Darkness.

Jacey combines an eclectic mix of materials to create each collection. Sterling silver is the predominant material with the uses of leather, rope and ribbon alongside Swarovski crystals, freshwater pearls and a variety of stones that provide his jewellery with its distinctive edge. Unique components are designed and cast in keeping with each seasonal theme. Mermaids, were-wolves, puppets and knights in shining armour for example are all familiar in previous collections.

    Jacey's Coveted Fox Bracelet

Born in Northampton in June 1976 and raised in Devon, Jacey has crafted jewellery pieces since the age of twelve. He completed an Art Foundation at Exeter College of Art and design and went on to Berkshire College to study fashion and accessories. It was here that he realised jewellery was his one true vocation. He released his debut collection in September 2000.

With collaborations alongside Marcus Luptfer and Levis under his belt, as well as designing this years Fashion Fringe trophy and the addition of a full men’s line to the collection this season it would seem that the Jacey Withers' story is set to continue.

We can't wait to get a little piece of Jacey on our website too!

  • New Designer: Lenora Dame

Firstly, a huge apology for not writing any posts for such long time. I'm not entirely sure where the last month has gone to, but it seems to have whooshed by!

Floral Brocade LocketTo get back on track, I wanted to introduce you to our newest designer, Lenora Dame. Her beautiful handcrafted jewellery has just arrived from the US and went live on the site at the end of last week.

Lenora Dame considers her career in jewellery design something that evolved, rather than a direction she pointed herself in and trained for.?? The birth of her first child made it apparent that the demands of that job and motherhood were not a good mix.? Growing up in a large creative family, with a mother who is almost never without a creative project in-hand ? knitting, sewing, quilting and most recently a prolific painter, was most likely the platform for her interest in doing something creatively entrepreneurial.? A collector by nature with a strong interest in anything vintage, Lenora found herself with a cache of vintage buttons ? which translated beautifully into jewellery.

Vintage Birdy BangleHer early designs were almost exclusively made from vintage buttons and were one-of-a-kind creations ? Victorian metals, bakelite, celluloid and glass were among favoured materials.? ???A surprise came when high end boutiques were interested in the jewellery, even better ? did well with it and became regular customers. Looking for different ways to approach her designs, vintage and new beads and findings were mixed with the buttons to increase the assortment. In an effort to refine the line it became essential to learn different techniques of assembly, wire wrapping, stringing etc. which Lenora took on as a challenge.? ?A design shift was in the making.? Wanting to maintain a certain aesthetic, Lenora likes to use found objects as much as she can, vintage bits and pieces that create a look that is familiar and forward at the same time. Vintage textiles/prints are a favourite resource.? ??This of course requires time in antique shops, flea markets and auctions which is a favorite pastime.

In September 2001, Lenora’s sister Alison joined her, bringing a strong marketing and business background and a partnership was formed.? Lenora lives in Chester County Pennsylvania with her husband Brooke Dolan and their two children.? Her studio is 15 minutes from her home in Chester Springs, PA.
